Right but I wouldn't have figured it out, my point is that beginners are deterred easily; I couldn't initially figure it out.

I've been teaching beginners for * years. I'm certain stack has never helped anyone. It's easy to make the mistake of believing otherwise.

I'll continue to advocate for people to not use it as long as people keep coming to me and asking for help after they do.

There will always be people running into problems. Maybe you wouldn't be frustrated with that if you knew how to help them?

I do know how to help and I do help.

Good on you! I guess I am puzzled, what is the problem? Perhaps the issue is we have lots of newcomers because stack is accessible?

What I mean is, are they coming to you with problems that cabal would have solved? Would they even be using haskell if not for stack?
