I'm working in #Scala and need to modify a function. No easy way to compile a single file in sbt, so I'm waiting 3 minutes for type errors.

I don't have a technical solution. We're up to 4 Branches at present and maintain cats and scalaz. The complexity spins out quickly.

If others have political motives that have led to my shift, I'd feel betrayed, but not surprised at this point.

It's the fact that features have slowed to a crawl to maintain this many versions and branches in harmony. Always backporting, or rewriting.

If you still take Scala seriously (which many do not), then I can tell you the solution for this problem. It's not the first time.

I love writing code. The fact such vitriol surrounds the language I started with and became proficient in first brings me profound sadness.
