I'm working in #Scala and need to modify a function. No easy way to compile a single file in sbt, so I'm waiting 3 minutes for type errors.

I don't have a technical solution. We're up to 4 Branches at present and maintain cats and scalaz. The complexity spins out quickly.

It's the fact that features have slowed to a crawl to maintain this many versions and branches in harmony. Always backporting, or rewriting.

Me too. The vitriol started the first day I wrote Scala, in ~2006. I successfully avoided it until 2014. I stopped caring thereafter.
