Some of them are just bugs. Bugs not being addressed for years is a great pain! But I wanted to focus on missing language features here.

Most of type inference bugs I report seem fixable to me. I bet JVM will eventually get TCO. But I'm not recommending anyone to wait for that

I have never seen Scala type-inference work in any practical way. No type has been inferred that I could not trivially do myself.
