Am I missing something or do Java 8 streams lack the ability to just take the first element and pass the rest? head and tail calls.
Java 8 libraries are predictably terrible. Use functionaljava if you really have to.

thought calling .stream on something would be easy. ended up wrapping a reader,java not monad,in a artisanal hand crafter stream

yeah, why are ListT and StreamT so different. I expected a :s/List/Stream/g however StreamT expected something for State.
