@argumatronic That must have been traumatic. No idea what I would do. In my case, it went on for 9 months, while he lived in my house.

@dibblego You don't have to tell me anything, of course, but did your parents not know? Do they now?

@argumatronic I was declared a Ward of the State (of Queensland) about a year later and so the state became my legal guardian.

@dibblego Oh, God. I am so sorry. I can't imagine.

@argumatronic Well, after a couple of horrible foster homes, I eventually went to one where I spent the next 4 or so years. It was great.

@dibblego I'm glad it got better. Have considered being foster parents ourselves, worried the bio parents would make me murderous.

@argumatronic But, I saw some awful foster homes too. So, if you can truly empathise with abuse, then imo you have a rare talent.

@dibblego I had friends in foster care growing up. I've seen a few bad examples of it. Amazes me ppl become fosters if they can't empathize
