      @bitemyapp but it would be damn odd for it to not be the case. Validation not having a Monad instance hasn't been a problem in practice.

      .@purefn in Haskell we ended up using Isos to bounce between monoidal Validation and Either-esque data types.

      .@dibblego @purefn when AMP rolls in, it won't be 'liftM2 id' anymore. Also, that equality is not a monad law anyway.

          .@dibblego @purefn it's a reasonable expectation and there's an argument to be made for orthogonality of short-circuiting vs. monoid
