      @rickasaurus consensus seems to be TLC (TypeLevel Compiler). ESC (Experimental Scala Compiler, cp egcs) was on the table at one point.

      @kmett @dorchard @bodil Sure, there's a tradeoff. Scala generally leans towards flexibility over type-based reasoning. Others lean opposite.
