I think what's frustrating me about the "programming is/isn't maths" conversation is that there's false dichotomies at play

@ClarissaAdjoint There is denial of a formalised, well-established, decades-old, applicable matter of fact. There is nothing else.

@dibblego everyone who's saying "programming isn't math" is trying to make some kind of point about math classes and learning programming

@ClarissaAdjoint I understand the point. It is the deliberate conflation of facts that is objectionable. It perpetuates the silly nonsense.

@dibblego Yeah but to me it's like that exam question that 90% of the kids get wrong. It means the question was bad, not that they're stupid

@ClarissaAdjoint I don't for a minute believe that denialists are stupid. I'd ignore them if that were the case. A bit funny though.
