Neither #scala nor #clojure are in the end *really* good examples of what we should be able to do with #java interop on the #jvm.

@irrequietus So you rather like an equivalent of F# or F*?

@zerology I would have liked for the #jvm to have had something as successful as #fsharp on #dotnet; unfortunately we don't have that.

@oxnrtr @zerology I don't see #fsharp claiming "flexibility over types" as something good. I see #scala doing it; #clojure? "no" types.

@irrequietus @zerology Well, without typeclasses and higher-kinded types, F#'s typesystem isn't very expressive compared to Scala.

@oxnrtr @zerology #scala is just immitating #haskell based languages; #fsharp is pragmatic, non-confusing and useful in a routine setting.
