@dibblego I think it's only useful toward discussion of what may be familiar, or not, to different sorts of programmers, and why.

@kaleidic @dibblego Maybe I am missing some context in this drill down tweet stream, but isn't that what patterns are for? Good and bad.

@pandamonial I, too, see "patterns" as the same general topic as "idioms." That idea won't relieve @dibblego of his suspicions, I'll guess.

@dibblego @kaleidic @pandamonial I call monads, functors, monoids, alternative, "patterns" sometimes. Easier to read when I see one, I skim.
