Finding it hard to come up with a nice #fsharp solution which mixes TPL (in particular Tasks and ContinueWith) with mapping over options.

@TheColonial in a more robust type system you would use OptionT monad transformer. It's just code repetition otherwise and F# forces it.

@dibblego Perhaps, but that doesn’t solve my problem :) I have to use F# here.

@TheColonial it just occurred to me that maybe you can't solve it because of this problem without modifying the "Task" code.

@TheColonial you want the hypothetical TaskT transformer onto which you stack Option.
