I'd like my children to be able to code their "times tables" at the age their teacher asks them to recite them. Surely more useful exercise?

@dibblego Will read for sure. Although I probably would not call "times tables" mathematics myself, just working/reference knowledge.
@SusanPotter I wouldn't call anything that occurs in a school, mathematics. However, children, teachers and parents have been hoodwinked.
