Anyone up for a blog post debunking the silly idea that you shouldn't use val in #scala traits (and it eliminates lots of decent code)?

@dibblego Off-topic, but I've found IntelliJ doesn't understand Scala very well... Many false positives and false negatives in inspections.
@mergeconflict It's the high practical cost that is most disturbing of the misguidance, not the misguidance itself.
