@purefn I mean, the argument that "us Americans are violent, and we like guns, so don't take 'em away" seems logical enough

@jedws Stricter gun controls is treating the symptom and not the problem. It's silly.

@purefn you'll never convince me that giving you a gun makes me any safer. You may feel that you are, but it is not transitive to society.

@jedws Having a false sense of safety does not actually make you any safer.

@purefn I am clearly less likely to be hurt by a non-existent gun than an existent one, even if I trust you, the owner.

@jedws @purefn My friend was shot dead with a handgun in Iceland, a country that absolutely bans them. Criminals don’t care about bans.

@runarorama @purefn that is a tragedy, not an argument. Criminals break the law, that is the definition of criminal.
