I try to stay away from drama, but this is the best comment todayhttps://contributors.scala-lang.org/t/coc-compatible-community-builds/3097/44 …

Everything he says fair, but ultimately it is still a poor decision to remove Scalaz because it will undermine faith in the entire scala ecosystem. Do you want to live in a world where a project can be removed because Seth doesn’t like it?

If the CoC is a just proxy, it's (1) unnecessary and (2) confusing. Just say, "We had to cut projects. Here's the money and time we save." I think, though, that's not what's in play here. As
@djspiewak says, a community build is not a right, but it is a statement of good will.2 replies 0 retweets 4 likes -
It is not a right, but there needs to be some objective criteria if
@adriaanm wants to have any trust from the community.5 replies 0 retweets 4 likes -
Taking a step back, really, what is lost? Scalaz still builds just fine. It still releases. No one is being ostracized. All that was changed was a CI config file.

I mean, yes? There’s always context. I’m not sure what you mean.

It's the one and only community build. This sends a very loud msg that certain people/projects aren't part of the community. The msg has weight cos it's from those who officially represent Scala and hold much power both in influence and the ability to ban on various mediums.

That may be so, but this has been going on *repeatedly* for at least 14 years now. And was a catalyst for the creation of Scalaz and why it subsequently succeeded. It's very weird how more than "just a handful" have only just noticed. Too bad they didn't back then I suppose.
