2/5 are arguing in bad faith, starting fights, or being disingenuous. Unfortunately, Josh's post reminds me of a broader problem in Scala, which is reflected in the highlighted exchange. Tony denigrates Josh's skill, and his intelligence, but Josh denies Tony his -humanity-.

3/5 This reflects strongly in Scala's history, in which the response to Tony has been to attempt to attack his lively hood, trying to get him fired, attacks on his legacy, in attempts to steal his code, and attacks on his character. Understandably, he has feelings.

4/5 That makes no excuse for throwing slurs at people, but there does seem to be a disconnect in the things he says vs the response to him in particular. Please try and understand the history of all of this,and recognize the history of all of this and approach with empathy.

"The excuse" you refer to. It might be useful to make it explicit. Or whatever you wish to call it. The rationale for the way you engage with many people, particularly those who engage with you in what you see as bad faith. I think I personally know it, but hey, explicit can be

I don't think Twitter is appropriate for that. Nor do I think articulating the entire reasoning, without a reasonable expectation of good faith, to be productive. I won't stop, except under very specific, prescribed conditions, though. That much I promise.
