I observe that in 2018, the Scala programmers are still obsessing over who is, and is not allowed in their club, instead of fixing the pathologically broken language and libraries. More popcorn please. I'm out.

It's damn pervasive in our field. Undergrad CS schools/clubs do it too. It's very amusing. Got told today to suppress things I say in
@HackYSU chat because people have "fear they will be told they're wrong." Seems like that's on them, not me. Being wrong is a chance to learn.
