It's damn pervasive in our field. Undergrad CS schools/clubs do it too. It's very amusing. Got told today to suppress things I say in
@HackYSU chat because people have "fear they will be told they're wrong." Seems like that's on them, not me. Being wrong is a chance to learn. -

Undergrad CS unis discourage any form of productivity and learning. Then they send people out into industry who are scared to learn and improve and look for ways to do better.

@youngstownstate CS does, and push new grads to work for startups/incubators. So the first thing on these poor students' resumes is their work at a startup which, statistically, will fail. Excellent.
