You know the saying? "The easiest way to find out the right answer is to post the wrong one on the internet." I did some research, but Tony Morris post only bitter tweets about Scala (and Stack), neither Scalaz nor TL written their story, and asked remember the event differently

1. Scala is a waste of time and most skilled programmers have now recognised that and moved on. 2. This is not a "us v them" story for you to research. That's the narrative you were told. 3. I enjoy wrong things on the internet, encourage them, sometimes even make them come true.

ad 1. Well, I believe that the programming in general is overrated, so whether I pick Scala, Haskell or Java it's just a intellectual masturbation over sth that could be pretty often done in Excel. I like FP but I don't think there is any superiority to it, other than ego-boost.

Yes, they are all the same, with no difference whatsoever, and those who have moved on, are making a terrible mistake in believing there is any difference. *eyeroll*

For them, it is (personal satisfaction etc). For the world? IMHO, the world doesn't care. Just a matter of a comfort zone.

Yes, that's the reason we choose better tools; for personal satisfaction. How can there possibly be any other reason? You enjoy Scala now.
