You will never obtain a deep understanding of functional programming by using Scala. You'll simply never be able to think those thoughts, even though you are otherwise capable.

Hmm, we could do with linking our Scala students at UNE up with the jobs market. (Though many are already working professionally while studying)

Thanks for the offer. Some time, doing a Data61 FP session in UNE Syd (Paramatta) could be good if there’s enough interest in the area who haven’t already taken your course before. Most of our computer science uni students are online though, so it’d be a different audience.
