If nothing else, enjoy the Scala shitshow of misinformation :) https://www.reddit.com/r/scala/comments/8ygjcq/can_someone_explain_to_me_the_benefits_of_io/ … PS: I highly recommend "nothing else."

From Odersky's comment it is evident that Scala 3 will have its own effect system. I wonder how is it different than Scalaz 8 ? Speaking of IO, Scala's Future are very expensive as they depend upon native threads. Scalaz inluded concept of Fibres to tackle it.

Completely different. Odersky does not grasp even the basics of this subject. You'll never believe what happens next.

If that is so, Scala 3 will act as frustrating, slow and immature stepping stone towards Haskell. Better invest in Eta than Scala 3 I guess.

You are welcome to learn how bad Scala is for yourself :) Almost all of us have retired from trying to make any improvement to Scala. It's always going to be a shitshow of mediocrity and high-school politics until our last days on this planet, and beyond.

Oh no. I dare not. :) I have used Scala back in 2012 for an year or so but didn't like much and had to move on. Wont do same mistake again. I would take your's and
@jdegoes 's word on it. This video must be well circulated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8IQ-X2HkGE …1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
Scala is a false economy. Unless of course, your goal in life is to find the bottom of the most wasteful rabbit holes.
