What's the best way to move on from the JVM? Can't just pretend it doesn't exist. We know the worst way, but what is best?

Well if you can't ignore it then that's a different issue. A good start would just be that those who can ignore it should. Or better, if it is the correct tool then use it, if not don't. It's going to take a long time to move on though.

so question, if the world must use the jvm, do we need a new jvm based language that does not leverage java libraries? would that be a good start? or does legacy also tie us to those as well?
