Just a reminder that if you hear someone talking about others "trying to turn Scala into Haskell", you can be 100% certain that they have never tried it, since they'd have immediately and obviously failed. Nobody tries this. Don't let that stop the giggling though :)

Would be, if it wasn't also counterproductive; just because the Liskov substitution principle is covert contravariance doesn't mean you can wiggle around farther than you should. You can "FP" Assembly for all that matters but it is more of a mental exercise than of use.
