    the issue here is much larger than this specific interaction, and I don't want that to get lost. if you're an educator and you're moved by this, diversify your teaching staff and curriculum, and rethink how you assess productivity and value in your classroom

    today my CS professor verified my imposter syndrome by saying "you're a good student, but here at Harvard there are some really great and really talented students" when he said that memories of loneliness and exclusion within the department flooded my mind, and I started crying
