    That people in charge of developing our children and teaching them their role as citizens would demean hungry, poor students this way gives them their earliest lesson in how little we value people simply because they have little money.

    Just to be clear, there is nothing feminist about demanding random women should be role models to aspire to or ideals for your children. Women get to exist as themselves, for themselves, without needing to aspire to some “higher” purpose of being models for ideal social behavior.
