In response to this tweet, a lot of ppl have noted frustration with formatting guidelines. I agree that bespoke formatting requirements different from industry standard (e.g. shunn for most sff) can be frustrating but I think there's also sometimes an issue of general tone 1/

sometimes I want to submit to a market but then their submission guidelines have such an aggressive tone? I am not an editor, so I guess I don't really know how often markets deal with rude submitters, but I think there's a balance to sounding strict/pro and also welcoming 1/
