St Chapelle, a wonder of the gothic, feels more like being inside a giant jewelry box than forest
, it is breathtaking indeed.pic.twitter.com/ApPkGW9otw
Reminds me of an old PBS documentary made sometime in the 80s called 'The Shape of Things'. Observing how repeating patterns/shapes are everywhere in nature. It's a slow doc, but gorgeous and hypnotic. We're just imitating nature's genius.
Our ancestors really knew how to utilize sacred geometry in building structures that corresponded to the harmony of the Earth & universe.
I always say the same thing when I see Gods cathedrals outside.
I’ve been to Ste-Chapelle many times, and every time, it not only takes my breath away, but I see something that I had not noticed before! Very much a favourite when in Paris!

There's a painting by the surrealist artist Jan Soucek I like which shows a canopy of trees reflected in a puddle of water, only the reflection is of a vaulted cathedral roof and not the branches of the trees. It's quite lovely:pic.twitter.com/8PHVh25Ofa
Is it inspiration from nature or convergence? For example, the tree-shaped vault of Sagrada Familia was designed by adding little weights to hanged ropes, to study load distribution.pic.twitter.com/5qtnmegjzI
