LOL I think it's a fogbow thing. Fogbow (an online forum that originally followed and mocked the birthers) watched as rhodes formed the oath keepers. I saw him discussing in an online forum that he wanted to limit liability in case somebody did something.

3% concept is that it's supposed to be a group of "sworn officers," those who took oaths to uphold the Constitution (see "We the People" tattoo). Not weird for one to be a cop. It's not a WP org, but like NRA, any org for US gun nuts is gonna skew racist.

Sure, I understand the image they try to sell. I've also interacted with these folks for over a year on the ground and I've seen the reality that *most* of them adhere to. Please see the bunches of responses to this tweet for some examples.

Just talked to CH police- the tattoo is real but they say the officer passed all background checks. They are going to make a statement.

My faith in background checks is limited. Additionally, background checks indicate a state at a given point in time; radicalization can happen in a short period. This officer has been on the force since 2014, I believe. A lot can happen.

Again, what is happening in the country's Police Academies? Who is teaching, reinforcing or condoning these beliefs & concepts? Where can beliefs be identified before employment or promotion in Law Enforcement? Will officers benefit from appropriate professional development?
