"Should have an excellent moral character" This ad for executioners in a Sri Lanka newspaper is crazy

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR KILLERS Whilst in Kandy, Sri Lanka, I encountered this horrendous advert in the local newspaper. The government there had recently decided to execute drug dealers, and were looking for cold blooded killers to fulfil their barbaric intent.

Insightful and quietly uplifting thread on how prisoners saved an overdosed man with ice cubs and meth
Quote Tweet
A man I lived with in prison overdosed on heroin. Using resources available to them, prisoners kept him alive with ice cubes and methamphetamine. A thread.

This thread on Euro weed regs is the real stuff, deep and dirty

I'm providing a global perspective - where Malta's reforms sit within the EU and wider international context. The reforms are groundbreaking in the EU - Malta is the first to formally legalise & regulate, as I've attempted to explain in this thread; twitter.com/SteveTransform 2/

After a brain-scramblingly busy period of work I've got some gaps opening up in the schedule. If you would like me to write about drug culture, psychedelics, mental health or my dog for your publication/brand/zine, please HMU ❄️❄️❄️ 🌈🌈🌈

The revelations about Prince Harry’s drug use should be a surprise to nobody. Rather they’re a reminder that drug use is common across society but those with privilege are less likely to face stigma or be criminalised. #PrinceHarry #PrinceHarryMemoir #DrugUse

Looking for someone America-based (and ideally harm reduction/advocacy-y rather than corporate) to contribute to an article about how to have a safe psychedelic trip. (I know I should just email people myself but it's late and my brain really hurts). #journorequest

Good article in the about the training for Oregon's first influx for psychedelic service centres. Fact they can't actually use mushrooms cos they haven't worked that bit out of the law yet shows how new this all is

Oregon’s #psychedelic program makes the @nytimes. Pleased to see @AndrewJacobsNYT & those interviewed describe it as non-therapeutic. Measure 109 allows for the non-medical, supported adult use of #psilocybin, one of the five varieties of psychedelic law. nytimes.com/2023/01/03/hea
"The study...found that in 2017, there were just over 200 reported cases of accidental consumption of cannabis edibles by children under six. In 2021, the number shot up to 3,054 – an increase of 1,375%."

Do I know anyone (that knows anyone etc) that ran a headshop and/or website selling research chemicals before the PSA in 2016? UK-based. Thanks!
Best non-fiction book I've read this year. Big recco, especially in commutable form.

People caught in possession of substances such as cocaine, cannabis and MDMA will not be prosecuted under new plans. The move aims to take pressure away from police officers for an offence that is viewed by many to be a public health issue.

As good a time as any to say 🙏 to all the sources I've spoken to this year. The best bit of my job is talking to people far smarter and/or kinder than me about work they do that changes lives. I am genuinely grateful (and often astounded) about their levels of patience with me

My last article of 2022 charts the rise of pink tusi. Weird drug that literally anyone with a connect and some pink dye could make for a fraction of the asking price – and be much safer. Up on >>

Massive achievement from a crew of freakishly motivated students (aided by ) to publish a 17k word report into recreational benzo use. If anyone is ever looking for comment or insights into how young people use these drugs, are your source

Phone calls from Scottish prisoners to the more than doubled from Aug 2021 to Jan 2022
