I must admit that I didn’t give Twitter 4.0 five minutes. But in the three it got, I was turned off by lower info density, legibility, bugs.

@dhh You didn’t like the same mention notifications appearing over and over?

      2. DHH ‏@dhh Jan 4

@benmatselby I didn’t even have those turned on. Just that the There’s New Mentions dot wouldn’t go away.

@dhh I’d take that to be honest :)

@dhh same here. It didn't keep its place, so I could no longer scroll to see new tweets since I last looked. (and the dots, info density…)

@martinfowler You can turn that off in preferences “Scroll to top” /cc @dhh

@dhh, Still can’t find anything better than TweetDeck. https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/

@dhh I've returned to using Twitter on the Desktop web only and am quite happy with that.

@dhh wouldn’t this be a valid reason NOT to do an application re-write? give it a chance! #basecamp3

@dhh I love how it's essentially a clone of the iOS app without any of the polish. 1/2

@dhh Click a tweet and it jarringly jumps to the details view without any transition. 2/2

@dhh and there is no more copy paste of images from clipboard…. that sucks big time

@dhh Gutted they removed the wobble effect when you press Esc on the home screen.

@dhh you can adjust text size fwiw. Doesn't fix the other UX problems the app has (including phantom notifications)
