If your company also feels forced to buy ads on your own damn trademark to prevent consumers from being misdirected, consider using ad copy like this to let everyone know. Happy to boost anyone who does

Small businesses shouldn’t have to pay ransom to Google in order for consumers to find them via their registered trademarks. It’s completely outrageous.

Sadly Apple does this too in the App Store. I’ll search for an app by name and then to result is a different competing app.

Ha! Our
@sharetribe ad copy in the tweet was very much inspired by Basecamp's (@jasonfried 's tweet last Sept), so nice to see it being noticed by the originators. We're a steward-owned company, so also no endless cash reserves for this kind of nonsense. -
In consumers' interest, Google should also be much better at restricting the use of trademarks in the ad copy. We have competitors use our brand name in these ads in extremely misleading ways. You'd think that Google would be better at recognizing a trademark like "Sharetribe".pic.twitter.com/v973PSAS1I
