I didn't get the point of this law when it was first enforced but it makes sense now because of all that ecommerce sites are doing.

Do Apple and Google compete with mom-and-pop app developers who sell through their own sites? Do mom-and-pop appstores exist? Aren’t appstores proprietary platforms unlike Amazon which is a marketplace that lists as well as competes with sellers who also own physical shops?

Having legislation saying that there cannot be algorithmic preference in the search box isn’t the same as prohibiting sales of brands of goods. I’d much prefer legislation that calls for no advantage in search. Restricting the sale of kindle or amazon basics seems wrong

Wow that would kill Woolworths in my country, they've absorbed / subsumed so many small suppliers over the last decade or so. Can't see our legislators getting behind this till it's impossible to reverse
