A remote @trailofbits employee had his apartment robbed while on our weekly company-wide videoconference. He had headphones on and was sitting quietly in his office, so the robbers didn’t know he was home.

When I asked him to speak on the call, the robbers must have heard him and ran away. He discovered his front room was a mess with some items missing after the call ended.

We gave him time to handle the issue and bonused him a

Fast forward to today, same employee is on our company retreat in Whistler and he gets an alert: “Unfamiliar face detected.” PANIC! Is it happening again?

Yes! It's 1 of 2 retreats we have every year (the other, optional, one being @InfiltrateCon). We had ~30 people this year. Maybe we'll have enough people next year to charter our own flight!
