… and our employees love working with us. We’ve only had ONE employee quit in ~6 years to join a new startup.

I think those were all good ideas but what I’m doing now is not working well enough. I’d love it if more women applied. How do I improve?

You're aware that's the cofounder and his partner, right? They have a kid together.
-
“hostile to women? no, no. some of our cofounder’s partners like being objectified on our business’s twitter feed.”

Amber asked me to take the photo and post it. Do you have some kind of problem with how she looks?

Your post made me aware of Trail of Bits. Unfortunately, the name immediately made me think of Trail of Tears. Quite uncomfortable.

I prefer to think of it as an off brand Lucky Charms, Trail o' Bits. You know, one of those bag cereals on the bottom shelf at the market

I have this image of Hansel and Gretel leaving 1's and 0's behind them on their way into the woods...

Just because women aren't equally represented in the infosec field by numbers as men are, that doesn't mean they are underrepresented. 1/
-
There is a big difference between inequality in access to a certain field and inequality in number of women interested in a field vs men 2/
-
If the access isn't barred and women are informed of career opportunities from a young age on yet still don't show the interest like men 3/
-
Maybe it is just time to accept that on average women are less interested in some fields than others. 4/
-
Though men and women should have equal rights and equal opportunities, we need to start acknowledging that does not mean they are equal. 5/5
-
Why argue there's not a problem to fix? (There is.) Worst case in trying is more qualified women enter the field. Otherwise, no change.
-
My premise wasn't that there are no problems to fix, but that even if all problems are fixed there might still be inequality.. 1/
-
Because it is clear that the exact same efforts to attract more women are more effective in some fields than others. 2/
