The indictment clearly shows they're not arresting him simply because he "wrote some code." And his already public logs clearly show intent.

The indictment shows what they want to prove. Not proof. And once again there is this detail that he needs to be convicted first.

FBI arrests people for this kind of thing all the time. Never seen the EFF launch a fundraiser for one though.

If it turns out this kid is truly evil, e.g. racing to help in situations he caused, I hope the fundraiser refunds people's money.

Even if he was sole source, writing/selling banking malware as a kid isn't evil in any sense of the word. Everyone did dumb stuff.
