Authy is fucking terrible. I'm locked out of yet another account because I swapped a SIM card in my phone.

Services like Authy infuriate me because normal users run into problems like these and then NEVER USE 2FA AGAIN. It hurts all of us.

I don't use Authy for TOTP. There are 2 svcs I use that require Authy, it's unavoidable. The only backup method is their app.

I setup backups in Authy. They didn't succeed at recovering the account.

It's painful, but you're much better off using Google Auth and writing down the seed codes on paper when you create the pairing.
