hey, is there a was to run this on a "Local" vserver. Or just on new DO droplets?
-
there's no UI for it yet but the playbooks will run fine on a local host if you skip cloud.yml. Join the Slack if you have issues.

qq: why openswan and not racoon?
-
raccoon doesn't support IKEv2, raccoon2 is not actively developed. I used StrongSwan, not OpenSwan, bc it went through a rewrite.

Nice work! Adding IKEv2 support to Streisand is still on my TODO list.

have you looked into a secure OS like
#OpenBSD or#HardenedBSD? -
yes! We're eagerly awaiting a contributor who said they would port our scripts to BSD.
-
awesome! Looking forward to that. Keep me updated, if you can.

Why is OpenVPN considered insecure?
-
it carries all the security baggage from TLS with it

just a thought wouldn't something like alpine linux provide a smaller attack surface than Ubuntu and be perfect for this use case?
-
that would be great, but name a cloud provider that supports it out of the box.
-
yeah unfortunately both AWS and DO don't support it with official images.

thanks, I was looking for exactly this, and Streisand is not it.

Dan, why didn’t you install every single piece of fucking software you could find that has “secure” in the description?!?
