I made 1 final update to the Apple vs FBI post, clarifying that Apple can update the SE and what that meanshttps://blog.trailofbits.com/2016/02/17/apple-can-comply-with-the-fbi-court-order/ …

@dguido @AnonyOps @trailofbits I find it hard to believe that any hacker can replace fw willy nilly.

@IgnatzMuskrat3k @dguido @AnonyOps Correct! Only Apple can load new firmware onto their iPhones. That's why the FBI has to ask them.

@dguido I turned off WiFi on my 4S & left it off after I caught Apple trying to shove the battery-sucking IOS 8 "upgrade" down my pipe.

@flugennock Cool, your device is vulnerable to all kinds of exploits and forensics tool if you leave it at iOS 7.

@dguido I'll be happy to upgrade as soon as I know it won't suck my battery dead and take 14 hours to download.

@dguido 1 thing you left out, the legal owner of the phone is OK with Apple doing this. It's not the shooter's phone, it's his employer's

@dguido @SwiftOnSecurity @trailofbits yes, they demonstrated that against iOS 8.1 not 9 so maybe fixed since.

@dguido with a 10+ digit alphanumeric password defeating the delay and wipe features wouldn’t help right?

@dguido that’s what I thought. After TouchID I moved to a 16 digit password. Unfortunately courts aren’t protecting our thumbs…
