Nice -- More stuff to crack...

I have had a few minutes to confirm their jailbreak detection is trash and ripped off from an open source GitHub project or something that a lot of apps use. This is a scam.

There is also an additional framework that performs detection using syscalls -- Still not significant and can easily be bypassed by hooking ObjC Classes.

Note to the horrible developers that implement jailbreak detection in their apps: Using raw syscalls does not make your code unhookable/unhackable...

Thanks for the review, but I think you're confusing the purpose of the app. You'll only ever get an element of surprise to detect jailbroken phones with an app, especially as we vary its functionality over new releases.

Of course, someone can "crack" the app and get it to run on a jailbroken phone but that's not the point. That's why we didn't waste any time trying to obfuscate or protect it, as you discovered.

You are contributing to the dystopia where app developers think implementing jailbreak detection in their apps will somehow make their app run on a more secure environment. The fact that you are planning to sell your stuff to the other app developers verifies my claim.

Seems like this app could help people who don't know much about mobile security. Maybe it's not intended for jb authors? Just because it isn't perfect doesn't mean it isn't moving people in the right direction.

Ya, and I’m confused what the ruckus is about. Having downloaded and run it, seems nice for showing little changes you can make to harden your device. Don’t know much or care about jailbreak detection but was thinking it would be a nice gift for my non tech savvy family members.

Thanks Ken and Coursey. @Pwn20wnd: Our iVerify app is not about helping app developers prevent their apps from running on jailbreak phones. We're bulk licensing iVerify to enterprises to help improve the security of their employee's devices.

I bought it, installed it, and ran through a couple of the tutorials. Was able to make some hardening adjustments to my device so thanks to your team for releasing it

It's a great tool, Dan! Just installed and went through some of the tutorials. Great for my non-tech family and I'll probably show to the IT Department on the office too.
