Here's why iVerify is banned in China: iVerify includes a DNS-over-HTTPS resolver that uses the iOS VPN API (accessible in next release). Apps using this API must apply for a license from a Chinese state agency which requires Chinese control of the app. http://miit.gov.cn/n1146285/n1146352/n3054355/n3057709/n3057713/index.html …pic.twitter.com/YUkBkrtG3B

No, unfortunately not. The engineering effort required for an Android version would be 20x the iOS one. There's too much fragmentation and too many caveats to catalog them all on Android, and no way to consistently evaluate device security. Buy an iPhone!

Did your team have to go through any extra scrutiny getting this through the App Store?
-
It took us 3 revisions and 4 weeks to make it through the App Store review process. We had to cut one major feature from the app, but the we're planning ways to redesign it and include it once again. It's covered more in the Motherboard article.

I laughed at "A setting that reminds you to periodically reboot your phone"... it's what I call the digital shabbat. You should reboot your smartphone at least once a week. Every week I find a issue that is "resolved" by rebooting.

It’s probably more about removing any malware which doesn’t do proper persistence. Which is probably most these days. Also avoiding evil maid checkm8 deployments from continuing to run unhindered. At least that’s how I read it.

Does it "detect jailbreak"?

It identifies anomalous, unexpected behaviors on your iPhone, yes.
