I don't recommend a VPN for most people. Use a modern browser, with HTTPS Everywhere, and strong authentication.

We agree with Dan. I do recommend using an encrypted and authenticated DNS service like OpenDNS, and use a modern browser with uBlock Origin turned on and HTTPSEverywhere plugin configured in EASE mode.

Chad, I suspect you know this, but for the record for future readers, that was a softball for Dan and others. I had a (very small) part in the Algo beta and have been raising the alarm on systemic issues in the VPN industry for years. (See: "Most VPN Services are Terrible")
