I wish universities had a better means to delete old email addresses. What isn't said here is that often the only way to order transcripts is to sign into the uni portal and where do you reset those creds? Your uni-provided email address.

I'm on my third graduate school for a PhD. My 6th college since starting my BS. Each uni requests transcripts from every prior university. I have at least 5 university-affiliated email address I cannot purge.

There are still options! Make an offline archive of your mail, set the account to a random password, and put up a permanent vacation reminder to contact you elsewhere. Don't use it as a password reset mechanism for your gmail.
