First, as far as we are aware, this was the first time a professional services firm reviewed the security of a Bitcoin client. We began with a comprehensive review of the bitcoind attack surface and surveyed previous attempts to fuzz it.

If Bitcoin client means fork of Bitcoin Core then, for example, Zcash is a Bitcoin client and was audited by several professional services firms

Ah, I was narrowly defining Bitcoin client to only Bitcoin: Cash, Gold, Unlimited, XT, Classic, etc. re: ZCash, yes, very aware that many smart people have been paid to work on it and there is lots of shared code. I hope we’ll get a chance soon too!
