I would use a lot more Ethereum services if they didn't all force me into using MetaMask. How do people think in-browser wallets are safe? This is insane!

MetaMask is likely the lowest-friction means of onboarding a dApp user and getting them to use the dApp daily (short of a mobile app). If the goal is to make dApp usage as accessible as a regular application, then wallets will have to get even more modular. Which is risky.

MetaMask is like your wallet while your main funds should be protected in a bank(read as offline wallet), don't carry what you aren't going to spend in MetaMask just like you don't carry your bank account in your wallet
