Trump charged with 34 felony counts in hush money scheme
After Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts he’s facing, the hundreds upon hundreds in attendance of the made-for-TV spectacle quickly departed the area surrounding the courthouse. By the time I jumped on the subway, only a handful of protesters remained. Back in Queens.
As mysteriously as he appeared, Trump was gone. I didn’t witness any physical violence/arrests on front lines today but it came close at times. Not to mention the unending stream of often hateful and truly primal screaming matches between MAGA folks and anti-Trump protesters.

Things, at least for now, were mostly calm on 5th Ave. when I departed Trump Tower about an hour ago, apart from heavy NYPD presence, the odd protestor, and a throng of gawking tourists. No signs of violence or major protester-police confrontations. Let’s hope it stays that way.
