What kind of ego or self-image problem does a person have where being called a "provider" is insulting? Believe it or not, we do provide care. I really don't care what I'm called, and my self-esteem and quality of care certainly don't depend on being called the "right" title.

Social media just amplifies the small, bitter crowds which unfortunately includes a few physicians that hate the word provider. - Show replies

If a doctor refuses to treat me because I said "provider" I'm going to fucking complain. You provide care, why do they hate that word?

There is some legitimate erosion of licensed practices/authority and remuneration in the terms and guarantees for care by insurers. It is being confused by egoists.
