the point of the Incel community is not 'I am shunned by women and my loneliness makes me resentful and angry.' The point is 'I feel that I am not being provided the women that I believe I deserve irregardless of their wishes'. Like so many things, it's about power not sex.

The Incel community grew up in the shade of the Pick-Up Artist community, where they quickly absorbed their principles of assigning women value based on rank. The 10s were the women they wanted and felt spurned by, but more infuriating was that the 6s could find male 9s for sex

That's why legalization of sex work or increasing access to sex is no where near a solution, because it isn't sex or companionship they want. It is power over specific women they have been told over and over that they are owned and not being provided with.

The Incel community is a radicalized cult. There is no meaningful difference in their environment than you'd find in Stormfront or Al-Queda in terms of how young men are indoctrinated to blame an 'othered' group for all their misfortunes and the righteousness of inflicting harm.

You stop this through education, therapy and stomping out the safe spaces they use to recruit and radicalize new members. Treating it as an aspect of the culture wars or worse, a reaction to feminism is ignorant and lazy at best, and dangerous at worst.
