First of all, congrats and thanks for joining! Make sure your goals are reasonable. Are you making a full game from start to finish? Just working on your project? Starting a new thing, see where it takes you? Keep in mind, the goal is to learn to work better, get into a routine.

Now, better routine - the goal is to work every single day - it's a challenge, but that doesn't mean burning you out like crazy.
@pixploitation pointed that out to me when Devtober was announced - working every day is not healthy long term. So what can you do about that?Deze collectie tonen -
Learn from this month/challenge; see your limits, learn to balance how much work you think you can do. This is neither a game jam or a form of crunch - quite the opposite, in fact; Maybe just work an hour a day, or less; Or work on different tasks on weekend!

Learn to pace your work, too. Don't do all the exciting stuff up front! Alternate the boring stuff and what motivates you. Reward yourself along the way - you've finished this incredibly daunting task... make something enjoyable next! Or better, take a break and treat yourself.

In the end, you'll have to figure out how -you- work the best, there's no secret formula. But this whole thing is about learning to set some time aside in your daily life to dedicate to your hobby. Don't overdo it. Make sure it's sustainable and makes you happy.

Very interested in
#devtober but intimidated about having to do something every day. But then, I guess that's the whole point. Get in the habit. Some days its gonna have to be something REAL small though ;P -
It's *exactly* the whole point. ;) I actually highly recommend taking weekends off and just work on a small task, design, or even marketing for all that matter. In my humble opinion you should aim for 30mn a day minimum, but maximum is for you to set!
