        I agree with the comments below. Most planners (in my experience) are good, and most planning commissions and politicians (who write the rules that planners have to follow) are garbage.

        The profession of urban planning is all about implementing the will of politicians and commissions. That's what they signed up for. I like the comparison with cops though

        That's a fair point. The people that should be held responsible are the ones who set the rules, not the ones to execute them.

        Yes but it’s easier to blame the rich. Why do you come up with nuanced arguments that are not visible in action. Although “greedy rich” healthcare companies are already getting blamed for healthcare issues. Politicians never take ownership, it’s one of their skills.
